We actually had a really good holiday over here. We celebrated both St. Nick’s (an Ukrainian holiday) and Christmas. For the first time, I’m going to start celebrating Kwanzaa.
Now before any of you give me the proverbial side eye, I need to explain. Growing up, my parents never celebrated Kwanzaa. In fact, they’d never mentioned it. I didn’t learn about it until I was in high school. Over the years, I didn’t celebrate it other than looking up the different meanings for the days and doing my own quiet reflection.
This year, it’s a bit different. While Bear is still relatively young and still don’t know a lot of things, I do want to incorporate Kwanzaa in our winter holidays celebrations. I hope when he gets older and has his own family, he’ll incorporate all of the holidays as well.
Here’s a small video of our St. Nick’s and Christmas Eve family time. I’ll have another video up this week!
I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas! xoxoxoxo
